Thanksgiving

National Thanksgiving Proclamations proclaim thanks for God’s providence in the events of the nation and, as President Washington explained in his Thanksgiving Proclamation, "for the many signal favors of Almighty God" in the lives of the people.

As congress recognized the importance of Thanksgiving observance, President George Washington issued a national Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1789. He wrote, "Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be—That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks—for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country...for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed...and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions—to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually...To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us—and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best."

In 1789 Washington designated a national thanksgiving holiday for the newly ratified Constitution, specifically so that the people may thank God for "affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness" and for having "been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed... "

The first official Thanksgiving Proclamation made in America was issued by the Continental Congress in 1777. Six national Proclamations of Thanksgiving were issued in the first thirty years after the founding of the United States of America as an independent federation of States. President George Washington issued two, President John Adams issued two, President Thomas Jefferson made none and President James Madison issued two. After 1815 there were no more Thanksgiving Proclamations until the Presidency of Lincoln, who made two during the Civil War.

President Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a Federal holiday as a "prayerful day of Thanksgiving" on the last Thursday in November. Since then every U.S. President has always made an official Thanksgiving Proclamation on behalf of the nation. President Franklin D. Roosevelt set the date for Thanksgiving to the fourth Thursday of November in 1939 (approved by Congress in 1941).

This all started 170 years before when 38 english settlers landed at Berkeley Hundred on the north bank of the James River some 20 miles upstream of Jamestown. The groups charter required that their day of arrivial be observed as a “day of thanksgiving” to God. "Wee ordaine that the day of our ships arrival at the place assigned for plantacon in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually keept holy as a day of thanksgiving to Almighty god.” is a section from the serivce that Captain John Woodleaf gave on their day of arrivial.

This Thursday we will celebrate Thanksgiving. A day all of us that care for the future of America will drop to our knees and give God the honor and glory for His many blessings that He has showered America with.

However, as we move further and further away from our founding there are those who wish to remove these acts from our National vocabulary and memory. These are the same ones who want to turn America into the North American Union. I ask you, all of you in this season of Thanks, to join me in the recovery of our America and not the one that the globalist want.

To win this battle that none of the current presidential candidates nor the legislative branch are willing to speak out against I will need your financial help. Please join me in this grave battle for the sovereignty and independent future of America. http://tommillican.com/

Charleston, SC – Veterans Day Parade – November 11

2008 Presidential Candidate Tom Millican
participated in Charleston South Carolina Veterans Day Parade by joining the SC “Fair Taxers” in bringing the Fair Tax Legislation information to the public. Millican said, “This gave me a great opportunity to see how well received HR25 (the house bill proposing the Fair Tax ) is. The parade route was crammed with people who were yelling and clapping for the veterans as they paraded by. Then as we passed by with our signs and banners the crowd would erupt into applause again shouting “I’m for that!” It was very encouraging to me to continue pressing for the passage of HR25.” For the rest of this article go to http://tommillican.com

“One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”

One definition: A nation is a form of cultural or social community. Nationhood is an ethical and philosophical doctrine and is the starting point for the ideology of nationalism. Members of a "nation" share a common identity, and usually a common origin, in the sense of ancestry, parentage or descent. A nation extends across generations, and includes the dead as full members. Past events are framed in this context; for example; by referring to "our soldiers" in conflicts which took place hundreds of years ago. More vaguely, nations are assumed to include future generations. Almost all nations are associated with a specific territory, the national homeland. more

Tom NOT a vote against Hillary - He is a vote for what is RIGHT

Do you look at the field of candidates running for the Republican nomination and get angry, because you know you are going to compromise part of your core beliefs? I do too. I want to vote FOR a candidate that is traditional and conservative I compromised when I voted for George W. Bush and look how left he has moved. Don't misunderstand me; he is infinitely better than either Al Gore or John Kerry, the alternatives.

I know deep in my soul that I do not want Hillary to be President, and the best thing I keep hearing to do is 'Vote against Hillary" "Don't vote for someone who can't beat Hillary." people remind me I've even been asked. "You are going to vote on principles? This is not the time to do that. Hillary might be elected."

I want to vote FOR a really good candidate I want to stand firmly behind a good man as he runs for the Whitehouse I want to know that this candidate won't sell me and my family and my country out if he needs to.
Candidate must be: Pro-Life, unswayable in his stance to close the border, support smaller government, promise tax cuts and mean it encourage citizens to be independent from government, and get us away from foreign oil dependence so that we don't have to negotiate with oil-rich tyrants.

Bill Clinton sold us out to the Chinese during his eight years George W Bush sold everyone of us out to Mexico (truckers, manufacturing workers, construction workers and the schools). W worked with the likes of Teddy Kennedy to flush public education down the toilet He has repeatedly sacrificed our brave and skilled soldiers to appease the anti-war Left
I want to vote for a good man.
I want Tom Millican for President' He is a businessman entrepreneur, veteran, father grandfather, husband a deeply religious man and best of all, he is not a politician. He, too, is tired of compromising and voting for a RHINO (Republican in name only) He has entered this race to shut the borders, enforce the current immigration laws, make government smaller, cut taxes, and honor the agreement between workers and taxpayers who have contributed and planned to receive Medicare and Social Security all their adult lives But top priority is confronting and defeating terrorists who have vowed to destroy our Western culture Tom has already put together a plan to build bio-mass fuel plants with the complementary delivery system to bring it to the people, believing that foreign oil independence and alternative fuels are the answer to one of America's most crucial problems.

Check out http://www.TomMillican.com watch the video at http://www.TomMillican.com/tom.html and hear his views. If you have questions, ask them. Tom and his staff will answer questions allowing everyone to better understand his goals for America's Return to Excellence
Tom is not a vote against Hillary but a vote for a good man with a clear no-nonsense approach to managing this great country.

His experience as a corporate manager, businessman, entrepreneur, father, grandfather and husband, social cause advocate, and Vietnam veteran has given him excellent experience to lead this great nation in a renaissance movement he calls “Return To Excellence.” He is a true conservative on national security, social issues and the economy, and is not a politician. Tom Millican is the right choice in 2008!

It is urgent that this announcement is released ASAP to allow the country to meet Tom Millican and learn about his “Return to Excellence” movement which
emphasizes first the securing of America, by removing all illegal aliens, by the securing of our borders and seaports, by the confrontation and defeat of international terrorist and by the freeing of America from the grip of foreign oil imports. His candidacy is a re-invigoration of the true conservative movement, in a renaissance of ideas returning our country to excellence.

Tom Millican will uphold the US Constitution as it is written and protect the American way of life by appointing strict constructionist judges, not activists.
Government must be returned to its strictly defined Constitutional levels.

Tom Millican’s “Return to Excellence” will protect social security from the hands of elected officials; set into motion the best alternatives for solving the looming Medicare debacle, returning manufacturing jobs back to the US.
